In stockEnter your motor's rated torque and speed with the ratio you need. We estimate output torque and speed, then show gearboxes rated for it.
Output torque ≈ motor torque × ratio × efficiency. Keep a service factor of 1.5 or more for shock loads and frequent start-stop.
Each reduction principle trades stiffness, backlash, size and cost differently. Start with the column that matches your axis.
| Property | RV reducer | Harmonic drive | Planetary gearbox | Cycloidal reducer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| How it works | A spur planetary first stage drives crankshafts that orbit two cycloid discs inside a pin ring, for very high stiffness. | An elliptical wave generator deforms a thin flexspline so its teeth engage a rigid circular spline two teeth at a time. | A central sun gear drives planets that roll inside a fixed ring gear; the planet carrier is the output. | An eccentric cam wobbles a lobed disc around a ring of pins; the disc turns one lobe per input revolution. |
| Ratio range | 30:1 to 185:1 | 30:1 to 160:1 (single stage) | 3:1 to 100:1 (1–2 stages) | 11:1 to 119:1 (single stage) |
| Backlash | ≤ 1 arcmin | ≤ 20 arcsec (near zero) | ≤ 3 to 8 arcmin | ≤ 1 arcmin |
| Efficiency | 80–90% | 70–85% | 94–97% | 85–92% |
| Stiffness | Very high, high shock load | Moderate | Good | High, tolerates shock loads |
| Torque density | Very high | Very high, lightest | High | High |
| Best for | Robot base, shoulder and elbow joints, positioners, heavy index tables | Cobot wrists, humanoid joints, hollow-shaft actuators, precision optics | Servo axes, gantries, conveyors, AGV drives, rack-and-pinion | Rotary tables, press feeders, palletising robots, heavy-duty joints |

Every gearbox can be joined to any motor, robot joint or housing: we machine a custom coupling bored to both shafts, plus an adapter flange if the mounting faces differ. Send both shaft sizes, a drawing or just the motor model number.

For base, shoulder and elbow joints of industrial arms, RV reducers give the highest stiffness and shock capacity. For lightweight cobot and humanoid joints, harmonic drives give near-zero backlash in the smallest package. Planetary gearboxes suit servo linear axes and wheels, and cycloidal reducers suit rotary tables and heavy indexing.
Choose the gearbox type, open a model, pick the ratio and quantity and add it to the cart. Checkout asks for your delivery address and GSTIN, and you pay online. Add a note or upload your motor drawing if you need a matched flange.
Yes. Every gearbox can ship with a custom input flange and coupling machined for your motor. Share the motor model or the pilot diameter, bolt circle and shaft size, and we send a drawing and quote within 48 working hours.
Listed prices exclude GST. GST (18% for gearboxes, HSN 8483) is added at checkout and shown on the tax invoice, so GST-registered buyers can claim input credit.
Yes. Each product page has downloadable 2D dimension drawings and 3D STEP models where available, so you can check fit before ordering.
Stocked ratios dispatch in 2–3 working days. Made-to-order ratios and custom flanges or housings usually take 2–4 weeks depending on quantity and machining.
